Problem is… it is a heavily edited dialogue piece. If I try to send it to Audition it sends it as separate edited pieces. Almost thirty of them. I need it as one clip so I can clean it and effect it as one.

An audio mix down function in Premiere would be helpful so I could make one clip, “send” it to Audition and bring it back.

  • This is apparently an issue with Color Workspace Profiles. When I turn off Linear Light in AE Project Settings my images look like the output from Encoder. So there must be a way to embed the color space so that when it goes to Encoder it outputs properly.

    Any thoughts?

Seems odd that they would remove this functionality. It was recommended to me that I use the Caffeine App which gives you a menu icon (a coffee cup) that turns energy saver on and off. Seems to work.

    Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the quick response. Yes… I did tests and tried to match all the settings from AE into a Custom Preset in AME including bit rate. Things did end up being closer in size but they still took a bit longer in AME to render out.

I hadn’t realized the bitrate was so low in the AE preset considering the quality of the picture was so good. So I created a preset that works in AME and gives me a fair equivalent to the AE preset and I think I can live with the 10% increase in render time as long as I can get back to AE and work.

    Thanks again

Yes. Full Justification. I kind of suspected it was not possible. Just wanted to see if I was missing something.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    Dan

I’m revisiting this project/problem for my client. We are now up to 9 objects spinning around the ellipse.

I’ve noticed that at this number they don’t seem to be evenly spaced out and they clump up at various points along the ellipse. Is there something I need to change other than just the numObjs value?

I’ve been playing around with the anchor point and each object seems to travel from point to point on the ellipse at the same speed.. Would a difference in scaling or size ratio effect the speed and cause them to bunch up? The objects have been scaled differently.

Or is this just an inherent issue with the geometry of an ellipse?

If you have any insight I would surely appreciate it.

    Thanks

Ah haa! Alright… I did stretch out the keyframes on the null to cover the entire length of my 10 second composition. I guess that screwed it up.

It seems to work as expected now.

Is the %2 regarding the 2 seconds of Key frame time?

Thanks… you saved me a lot of client change time.

    Thanks Dan

The Time slowing factor works great but the offset doesn’t seem to be cutting it. Things are only slightly offset.

I have 6 objects as the top six layers and my null. I understand all the expression except for the last two… particularly the use of %2… which doesn’t seem to do anything if I change the number.

The last line is trying to offset the time (which it does) and the position (which it does but not at even intervals around the ellipse)

There is also an issue with the mask spline direction I think. If I speed things up there comes a point were the object jumps back to the top of the spline. And the first object doesn’t even begin moving until about 20 frames in.

I have a more keyframed solution to my animation needs but I sure would like to understand and make this work. I have a basic knowledge of expressions and have been reading a lot of online stuff but can’t seem to make heads or tails of this. Can you recommend any specific blog or site that will help me with this sort of 360° offset I am trying to achieve?

    Thanks

    Hey Dave

Thanks for this solution although there are a couple of issues which either I am missing or won’t work.

First and foremost , using the Stroke Effect I don’t see a Brush Position parameter. There is a Start and End Parameter… But no Brush Position. Are we talking about the Basic Stroke Effect? I am using AE v.7.

Secondly, my mask has to move because the background is from a 3D Program and we are tracking across the map, so within the frame the “route” is moving.

I have actually used the Stroke Effect to reveal along a spline but that was in a more locked down 2D world.

I guess the bottom line is that masks CANNOT take advantage of Roving Keys. I will keep experimenting and see if I can come up with a mixed solution.

    Thanks again.
