Stills are used to capture your color correction settings, and store them internally for other shots or projects.
You have to put them into a timeline, and then grab them from the color page.

Sounds like you want to export freeze frames?

bring your transcodes into a bin and select them all.
right click on your sequence and select relink.
select relink to selected items in open bin.
make sure none of your linked sources are in an open bin and selected.
might hve to tweak some of the link settings based on your source transcodes.
(I usually change name to “Tape Name or Source File Name”)

I had the same thing happen…created a new user and everything was fine…until the next day. Did the process again, and this time it has been stable for a few weeks.

Something buggy somewhere, and I have tried any custom workspacesettings since the second rebuild.

Yes you can have media on as many drives as you like.

Personally I would say your boot drive is for booting, and installed programs…nothing more. Put your cache on a separate drive. Read the manual, it will tell you how.

Project files are stored in a data base system…nothing to see here….move along…..move along.

You can always send a question to Blackmagic support.
Don’t assume someone on this forum is taking up the tasks of reporting other peoples findings to Blackmagic.

At the bottom of their support page is a link to email or phone with a specific question or concern.
They have a forum on their site as well, and as much as they do monitor it, and chime in, it isn’t really the official way to post a support ticket. Sometimes they respond to forum posts…sometimes they don’t.

We need a bit more information. When posting questions like this, provide as much detail as possible for the workflow you have tried.

By linking timecodes, i’m assuming you mean Avid wouldn’t link to the camera clips.
What type of camera clips are you using? This is a very important piece of information.

You instead brought the clips into Resolve instead, and exported transcodes to Avid?
What file type did you use? This is very important piece of information.
Did you use the Avid preset, or make your own settings?
Did you have audio turned on in the transcoding process? I know that may sound like a silly question, but that is how troubleshooting works.

You say you put your media into an mxf workflow for Avid. Do you see both audio and video files in that folder?

How are you importing back into Avid.

The answers to these questions may help someone figure out why the workflow isn’t working.

what was exported media wise out of Resolve? Was the aaf from Resolve created with the Avid Preset?
Did you load the Resolve rendered media into an avid mediaFiles directory location?
Did Avid rebuild the database in this location?
Frame rates may be a issue if they were mixed in the original edit. Resolve will have just output everything at a single frame rate. I’m assuming Avid is looking at the aaf and seeing the original framerate, not the resolve adjusted frame rate. (to be honest it has been a while since i did a round trip, but I would assume multiple frame rates will be an issue.

As for go pro, 4k, all the different types of media…is all your media back in Avid not a single media type now?
I’m a bit confused by this statement. Perhaps a more detailed explanation of the process your footage took from originally going into Avid, then what was done in Resolve, and how you got it back to Avid would help clear things up.

It’s a good start.
My first question is why my bins, have the Bins.1, bins.2 name at the side, instead of the actual name of the bin if set up as tabs.

Seems pretty useless way of keeping track…unless i’m missing how to call up the actual names.

Thank you Avid for allowing audio scrub to be mapped. Drives me crazy always having to turn caps lock on and off.
I actually preferred the old days of having the ability to select a track in the timeline to activate audio scrubbing instead of Caps lock, but now, turning it on and off is the click of button on one of the streamdecks.

Still playing, but certainly the interface takes a bit to get used to.

Those look like the original colourist was using external masks or something to hide something. Do they move with the picture, or are they static on screen.
(the guy in front of the vehicle looks like hand drawn shapes)

The ones in the vehicle might have been a pimple removal or something like that.
