Click on a clip in your timeline, call up your waveform view for the audio, and you should see the name of the audio file in the wave form window.

I usually have a White and a Black .tif file living in a common area for me to import into any sequence I need them for.

    I should add to it.

Don’t just make a new bin in resolve, make a seperate timeline for each “bin’ you want in avid. Then roundtrip those timelines using the avid roundtrip setting. This will automatically make an aaf out of resolve.
(i think it usually shows up 1 level up from where you told resolve to create your media?) import each of those aafs into their respective bins in Avid, and then try your trip back to resolve.

Try exporting an aaf out of resolve, and then import that into Avid rather than dragging from the database. I believe that will get rid of your MOB naming issue.

August 9, 2014 at 4:04 pm in reply to: adding an image over a video

Are you asking for this to be a supered graphic, or a second picture on the screen. Are you looking for a keyed image…like a network bug, or a company logo, odd shape, that is keyed over a background image, or are you looking for a square shaped image more like a second video screen, in the corner of your main video screen?

I got the impression from your first post you were looking to key a graphic, in which case my first question is Have you prepared the graphic to be keyable? Does the graphic have alpha channel information? Are your import settings telling it to retain the alpha channel?

I keep my avid projects on my drop box account.

Open them up from any Avid i am sitting in front of.

Media wise, you have to be more organized. Keep your media on external drives, or keep the folders separated for each projects media, and then constantly copy the files around.

I just finished up a series of 30 second spots, they were pretty small from a media standpoint, but i started them at home, was at the office one day when a change came in, so i plugged in the drive and did the change, then i was on the road for a job when another change came in…plugged in the drive while sitting in my hotel room and did the change. Because all the project files are on dropbox, i’m actually opening the same project from each computer i sit at, so i don’t have to worry about which computer has the latest version…they all do. I’ve been working this way for about 3 years now.

  • are all your isis boxes naming your drives with consistant drive letters, or is drive “D” on box 1 the same drive that box 2 is calling “E”? ie: check your assigned drive letters against the media drive names on each box.

Boris fX has bad tv effect.

you could certainly play with two picture in picture effects stacked on top of each other animating, but a realistic animation might be difficult.
