It doesn’t look like you selected any clips to relink to. You have to do a ctrl A in the bin with the AMA clips. As the button says “all selected clips” in open bins.

Then I usually go “Tape name or File name” not “Tape name or Source File id”

I usually tell it to ignore extensions as well. (Makes me feel better 🙂

Also, please be aware that Blackmagic is continually updating this software. Subtle differences have rolled through the interface for the last several versions. If the tutorial you’ve watched is from Version 9, then many of the tabs and buttons have changed. Even my original post about selecting the clips and right click right from the media tab to create a timeline is, I believe, only available in 11.

As tough as some AMA is…h264, I’ve had great success with others.(prores) Infact I’m using a series of Thunderbolt/usb drives AMA’ing
a total of some 20 TBs of AMA and it runs fine…but it is mostly prores.

You unfortunately have picked one of the heaviest codecs to try it with. (R3D) Without a red rocket card, I wouldn’t expect much of anything within avid…and I’m not sure Avid recognizes the Rocket.

R3d’s are big beasts. They push the limits of most boxes in their raw form.

I have a Windows box running MC, DS and Resolve, with a Cubix and 3 total graphics cards. With this setup, Resolve will get real time playback on the r3d,at half good debayer, but it doesn’t take much to slow that down.

Sounds a bit strange. The math involved (I would think) is irrelevant- especially if you’ve rendered it out. Have you tried it without fluid motion?
I would question if the box is confused as to the start and stop points of the clip itself, and doesn’t know what you are trying to move. (corrupt media, or something like that)

If it is the math, you could always mixdown the clip and use that. Might want to subclip your original into a bin so it is handy if needed.

Maybe mixdown the original length clip and see if the mixdown version has the same issue when ramped.

Perhaps try a trim to length fx or some other method of the time ramp.

I’m questioning the original clip more than the method used.

Are you saying you can move it if it isn’t sped up?

You should be able to draw a box around all the clips and lift them all at once.

Another way would be to mark an in and out on the section, Ctrl C the section, and then in your source window drop down call up the clipboard contents. This will load what you just copied to the source window. use that as a source and edit it to the audio track you want.

That would probably indicate that you didn’t set up your proxys properly in Resolve, to carry on the Timecode and reel names for each clip. This information is critical to be able to do a round trip to and from any editing program.

More information on how you did your proxys (all the conform page settings, as well as format you output) might help someone explain where things went off track.

For the most part, in these situations, small tests are the best way to make sure the workflow is correct. Hopefully you are still at the testing stage.

What version of resolve are you running?
Have you gone to the edit page and hit the + button to make a new timeline.

You have to have a timeline before you can go to the color page.

The tabs at the bottom are in that order for a reason.
