That is the purpose of Colour trace You have a timeline filled with shots that you have already graded. Right click on a timeline and select colour trace. It will ask you what timeline you want to trace from. This can be pretty much any timeline in your box. It will then give you the option of letting it do it “automatically” or you can manually go and select shots that you want to use the color from.
As Sasha said, Color trace – as it is based on timecode – will keep your tracking data and window animations in place, unlike using a stills page, where you have to retrack. If the shot is longer than the original, then obviously you will have to do some tweaking on the shot.

Try the unlink/modify/relink option on a couple of clips. I think after you do it, you’ll see how easy it is and just end up doing it with everything else.

If you are keeping all the source files used…not trimming anyway, I would just export the final version of your project.
If you want to rebuild it, import that project, select the clips in your media pool, and do a “change source folder” to the location of your consolidated clips.
Same as if you had to switch hard drives at some point or transfer the project to another system.

is the frame rate the same in both projects? I seem to recall FCP adding black inbetween clips if it was importing a59.94 sequence into a 23.98 timeline.

Are you saying you want to slow the zoom down…or stabilize the shot during the zoom? (I’m reading you want to slow the zoom down)

Andrew, have you tried playing with the conversion setting inside Avid. Quite often the default setting when you bring a 23.976 into a 59.94 project looks bad, but you can make adjustments in the timewarp properties that will usually clean it up.

Macs are pretty easy to change the password on.
Boot in, create a new user with admin rights, then you can change the settings for any other user. (remove all passwords)

I have my projects on drop box, and my archive solution automatically backsup my drop box folder to a different drive each night.
Yes, they could steal your computer, launch it and delete everything from your drop box…but they could also mug you on the way out the door and steal your usb stick.
Nothing is perfect.
Odds are searching for a drop box folder would be low on the list of priorities. Would certainly give you time to access it from another computer and either download the contents, or change the password.
By the way…you have changed all your passwords correct?
