I had this problem before and this is how it was solved:

    1. Delete all of the previous renderings of the same file.

    2. If you do not want to delete them make sure they all have different names (Such as Johnny at the lake1, 2, 3 etc. OR Johnny green screen, Johnny green screen with Defocus effect etc.
If you are in doubt whether they were saved to a different file, make sure the new rendering has an original name.

    Hope this helps.

    Yes, it worked. Thanks.

However, if there are several parts where text is inserted, it has to be done every single time. Do you know if there is a setting for all text to come as 1440 X 1080 instead of adjusting that every time?

May 14, 2008 at 8:34 pm in reply to: Question about sound recording

    Hello again.

I tried downloading the free version but it wouldn’t allow me to do much. I ended up paying about $30.00 FOR THE FULL VERSION. It seems to have installed fine on my computer, however, I am still not able to do what I had in mind.

For example, if you go to control panel and click on voice or sound, gives you options for recording. If you go to Vegas it also gives options such as MIDI, Yoke 1-16, Virtual cable, sound card, Microsoft Wave and Microsoft Synth…
I have several programs that generate sound. One of them is Voices of Passion (Eastwest) and Symphonic Choirs). They usually play through the computer speakers fine but if I am playing them they do not recoord into Vegas. It gets more difficult since sometimes I play them through a MIDI external keyboard.
I have tried multiple settings combinations at no avail.

SHould I install those programs as VST???

    Thanks,

    Gino

    Thanks again.

Are you talking about the light blue, green and orange ports in the back of the computer?
Is direct monitoring a function of Windows or Vegas?

I can think of two different ways depending on how long your movie is:

1: If it is a short movie, render it with the English soundtrack first, then render it with the French soundtrack (or the japanese one) then import them into Architect as chapters. You can make menus for selected chapters from there.

2 The second option is to render the soundtracks separately.
When you go to DVD ARchitect there should be a function for select language.

The third option is to make separate movies to be sold in either language.
The fourth option: A very cool one that I just thought of:
Have English on the right channel and French on the left channel. 🙂

    Thanks for the reply:

I mentioned Windows sounds as an example but really what I am after is creating sampling of different sounds in Vegas.
Is that possible? I was thinking of combinations of sounds from different sources: MIDI, CD’s, instruments etc.
The main problem I am having is that some program that generate sounds do not work with Vegas. However they play through the computer speakers just fine.

I looked up directconnect but it seems like there are different products and different companies. Were you referring to any program specifically?

Is there a different way other than running a microphone in front of the speakers and have Vegas record it?

    HELP!!!!!!!

Yes, sound. But I do not want to drop the entire sound file in Vegas. All I want to do is record internal computer sounds (fragments of files) or record files from sounds coming through the computer speakers. In other words I would like to be able to push the circle (record button) anytime there is an interesting sound and be able to capture it in Vegas. I have tried the MIDI-in (MIDI Yokes) without success.
