Oopps! Just reread some of the later posts.

Quite confusing as there is conflicting advice in the thread.

Can someone PLEASE tell me for once and for all if the following approach is the correct one?

“Set my project properties to 720 (original footage is 1080), pan/crop and render out at 720”

Thanks everyone for your input.

I’ll stick to keeping my proj props to 1080 and pan/zoom while maintaining quality… and render out to 720.

just checked out the site.
I’m assuming this approach is limited to simple graphics as the graphic is created in a pixel grid limited in size. Not a full blown image correct?

Hi Steve,

The trimmer/media pool is a great tool when you have a large project in need of logging segments for quickly finding footage.

An example of the need to know which bin a certain media is in:

As you go through each media in “all media”, you use the comment field of the media to describe the clips.

once you’ve done this, you create a bunch of sub-bins and start copying media to various bins (typically, to only one other bin). at some point you want preview media and you can’t recall if you had previously moved it to a sub-bin. you want a quick search to find it instead of looking in all the individual sub-bins.

I know it’s not something you’d do regularly, but my current project called for this “find which bin a media in “all media” is in.
