Trimmer – what is “save regions”?
In the trimmer, if I create regions they seem to be saved because if I close my project and re-open it… there they are.
so… what does the “save regions and markers” feature do?

The button allows you to manually save the regions and markers. There’s a preference setting that turns off the automatic saving of trimmer marks. If you turn that function off then you’d need to use the button.

Hi Rob,
Strange, I checked my prefs and the checkbox for “save trimmer regions…” was NOT checked. Yet, when I open my project, the regions are there.Perhaps when the box is checked, they are actually saved in the clip (is this possible?) so when the media is inserted in another project, they come along?

The trimmer either saves the markers within the media file or in a sidecar .SFL file. You need to preserve those SFL files when you move or back up your media.
Yes, if you save markers and regions for a clip in the trimmer then they’ll come along to the next project.
