    Hi there,

I only saw your reply today, I’m quite late I’d say 😉

Thank you very much anyways, I’ll keep in mind your suggestion in case I’ll have similar problems in the future.

    Cheers!

ok I got a partial solution:

I activated “collapse transformation” and “3d” on all the layers inside any comp/precomp that was tracked, and if I render out it’s now working.

In the main comp it’s still glitching though; but I’ll just prerender the tracking comp and it will do.

If anyone has a more indepth explanation it would be great.

    Cheers!

    Thanks Adam

I saw your reply only now, I got it to work properly.

Btw I am using the standard particles emitter.

The costraint option sounds interesting, I’ll give it a go!

    Thanks very much

update: nevermind, I got it working!

I tweaked a few options and it’s now working fine.

Just in case anybody else gets the same problem in the future, I think the main thing preventing me to obtain what I wanted was the “tangential” check in the Emitter tag; switched it off and now it looks good.

    Cheers

edit: I uploaded the scene demo just in case anyone needs to do the same thing. I don’t think it’s the most elegant way to do this, but you might never know.

Could the focus distance be the cause?

What distance is it set to?

    hi there,

I’d suggest you use the Boole object to “dig” holes onto surfaces. It basically subtracts one volume from another.

You can find tons of tutorials on how to use it
