    Hi

    I am a beginner C4D user.

I have imported a mesh .obj file that I generated via autodesk 123D Catch. The mesh represents a section of a face.

The mesh is an irregular shape and I would like to make holes in it as if it’s surface has been perforated. How do I start doing this in C4D?

    many thanks in advance

Sorry, just to add, that it is important that circular holes are generated allowing light to shine through etc.

    hi there,

I’d suggest you use the Boole object to “dig” holes onto surfaces. It basically subtracts one volume from another.

You can find tons of tutorials on how to use it

    Cheers!

you are looking for the Boole object. You put your object and the object (or objects in a Connect object for more than one) into the Boole and you can cut the one from the other. There are limits to what you can do with a Boole but it is a good start. Boole will cut (Subtract)/Add/remove (Without) but the default is Subtract.
