    Hi there,

I’ll try to be quick 🙂

I have 3d tracked a video take and I am compositing 3d content inside of it.

I have a COMP that needs to be “Alpha-inverted”/matted from 2 different layers:

here’s a screenshot with details, because I think an image is worth a thousend words 🙂

In summary: I need the “ground-circles” animated comp to be “masked”/matted by 2 other ones (the tree and the light pole) in order to give the scene a realistic look.

I understand this can be done with node-based software, but is there any way this could be done in AE?

Thank you very much for your attention

    🙂

Precomp the matte layer, so they are one layer

I usually precompose the mattes, and then enable the “collapse transformations” switch so that the 3d placement is preserved in the main comp. Use the precomp as your track matte.
