  • Track finger movement from footage to obtain 3d spline

Posted by Giacomo Bompan on June 11, 2012 at 7:46 pm

    Hello everyone,

this might be very simple, but I can’t sort it out:

how can I track my finger movement on the table in order to create a spline in C4D?

-I want to composite over original footage a solid growth along the finger’s path”

I know there’s a way in Boujou, but it sounds like a workaround from what I read.

My question is: is there a software/plug-in that properly traces the movement of a point in 3d from 2d footage?

    Thanks for reading!

There was a C4D tracking plugin some years ago, but I can’t recall the name. For the most part this sort of thing is done in an external tracking program and then imported back into Cinema.

There’s a plugin called CineCAT for C4D that does tracking. You can download the demo and see if it would work for you.
