There is a Timecode Generator that will display the timecode of your Timeline.
Go to Generators > Elements > Timecode. Place the playhead at the start of the video. Press “Q” to apply the generator as a connected clip at the start of your timeline. The default length is 10 seconds. Extend the timecode generator to the length of your timeline or clip and it will read the timecode of the selected video. The Timecode Generator is editable in the Inspector. From the Generator tab you can select Format: HMSF, HMS or Frames. Choose the font you like and change its size. Then select the Timecode Base for Current Project or anything from 23. 976 to 60. Add a label to the front of the running timecode display. You also have the option to change the font and background colours. The Video tab gives you control over opacity, size and position.
This generator does not appear to be documented in the User Guide.

Thanks for the offer, however I did manage to get CS6 PS Beta running. I had cross posted in the FCP X forum, but forgot to update here.
This is what I wrote last night:

Thanks Oliver. The Super Glam plug-in looks like it might be the answer. Although it’s a paid filter, it is reasonably priced.

Success at last! I now have a dark tray Photoshop CS6 Beta open. This time I did a Spotlight search for CS6 and trashed all instances, including Bridge. I then restarted, Repaired Disk Permissions, restarted again, then tried another reinstall of the downloaded .dmg. This time it worked. Interesting to see that this is CS6 Photoshop Extended Beta

Thanks Dennis, I thought you might have noticed my post.
No, I don’t have a clean drive available.

I have Photoshop CS5, which was an upgrade from CS4 installed as well as Lightroom 4. Does the CS Cleaner Tool remove these programs? I believe CS5 was a downloaded upgrade. Reinstalling would be a real pain if I have to download Photoshop CS5 again.
CS6 Beta installs, all folders appear in the Finder. I have uninstalled by dragging the folder to the trash, restarted, then tried to reinstall from the .dmg a few times.

The PS6 Beta installation is on the system drive. Other Adobe products: Photoshop CS5 is installed, Lightroom 3 and 4.
The program installed along with Adobe Bridge CS6. Bridge will run, but PS6 won’t start. Apparently I’m not alone, there are others who have posted the same issue on the Adobe PS6 Beta forum.

I just checked the forum on the Adobe site, and it appears we’re not alone with this problem.

In the “ask a question” box, enter Adobe Applicaion Manager.
It appears some users have tried copying the .dmg to the desktop and installing from there rather than the downloads folder, which they say works. I have not tried this yet
