Thanks Peter. That sounds like it might be a viable workaround, but it creates a problem for monitoring audio in Log & Capture. I’d have to connect the audio output from the DSR-11 to an external amp and speakers (no headphone jack on DSR-11). But it’s definitely worth a try. In the meantime, I’m going to follow Walter Biscardi’s suggestion and add more RAM. More is always better.

Thanks for the quick response. I’m running FCP 5.0.2 on OSX 10.4.2. I was just reviewing tape in Log & Capture mode, when the audio dropped out – no sound from internal speakers. I tried to refresh AV devices, and got the beach ball. Repaired permissions, then tried to start without trashing prefs, now FCP5 won’t load. I will once again trash prefs. And I’ll look into adding ram.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?
