What I’ve noticed as well, which could be the problem is that any picture, comp, null I import onto the timeline is positioned at an angle instead of normally horizontal, if that makes sense. The bounding box and any image I now import including nulls are all askew. Can’t say I have a clue why that is, so perhaps that’s messing everything up?

I think so… What I have is an After Effects file… A deer running PreComp. I want to keep that look and add the deer halting and bucking without changing the original deer run which is already used in the beginning of my animation. So SAVE AS may be okay and it won’t change the original?

YES!!! That’s it. And as mentioned… I’m stupid. I just couldn’t remember what or where that thingamabob is/was! Many thanks…

Perhaps I should give up this desire to animate or art itself. I can’t even remember the basics…

Thank you for always helping Dave… I really appreciate it.

Well… I have the three pins to nulls… and then when you just want to simply move the main controller, which would be the foot to watch the whole leg move – no animation yet, just to experiment and watch the leg move correctly, etc, instead of it just moving around gracefully, fluidly, easily as it should, it’s more jagged, stuttering in it’s movement which limits the positioning, almost like it’s fighting me to move. I have had this problem before long time ago, but I just can’t figure out the simple thing to turn on or off…

Yes. Duration… Sad me… I just couldn’t remember the basic terminology. Thanks both! I’ll try that script!

Cool… though I should clarify that the my animation is mainly of a 2D character.

I can try something in Maya, but seeking easier, better AE routes if possible? I’ve heard of Maximo, I believe its called and Talk Animation but they are as well for 3D characters…

December 18, 2013 at 5:55 pm in reply to: Camera Extreme Close Up Focus Problem…

Thanks both! The image is very high res as I had this shot in mind to get very close to it… Lowering the aperture to 0 is what actually brings it into focus… if I go any higher it blurs it even more. DOF is on as well, so that’s why I’m troubled…

Yes… On AE CS6… I’m updated on AE and Red Giant, but I haven’t purged, etc, which when I did, it seemed to do the trick. The initial pop in and out which was dead center on screen, even when I adjusted the length, randomness, etc, I was still getting it… but for now, considering the scene is only 10 secs in length, I don’t see it any longer. I think perhaps that might have solved it! Thanks Walter… and all!!
