The Pro X version trial has various AVI codec like CineForm, YUV, Blackmagic, etc. As you state, I don’t see any ProRes or DNx codec and others. I’m not concerned this will effect future Vegas Pro releases. I think Magix will explore features in Magix that Vegas doesn’t have and features in Vegas that Magix doesn’t have. How much they integrate them in the future, we don’t know yet. I think they will be smart about how much they intermingle.

Checking a recent 14 minute 37 second HD project rendered with MainConcept AVC variable bit rate (max 24,000,000 avg 12,000,000) it came out at 1.14 gig. Higher quality rendering takes up more disk space.

Hi Phil,
If I match media to a clip that is 30.000 fps and no audio, then use the ‘match media’ filter for render, I get the same as you……nothing. Put in an audio track, and then I get the same as you, only audio render options. I think it is the 30.000 fps media, Vegas can’t find a perfect match to the video, so it displays nothing. Take off the ‘match media’ filter and choose a format and template to customize, or change the frame per second to 29.970.

I render intro’s the same way as any of the features, using a Blu-ray compliant template (m2v) for the video and then Sony Wave (w64) for the audio. It works for me and has played without complaints, although I don’t have a wide distribution.

To follow John’s previous reply…..the AVCHD 1920×1080-60i template is set to the interlaced (60i) standard. You can change the field order of your event media and view the results in the Preview pane. However the field order you set in Project Properties doesn’t force a like same change to a render template. Project Properties are for editing and viewing within the Preview. Format Templates are for setting the properties for render.
If you want progressive, then perhaps the Internet 1920×1080-30p Template will work better, as you have already discovered.
Like John, I’m wonder what the specs are of your original source media, and what you want to achieve in the results of your final delivery render? Are you rendering to m2ts as an intermediate file by any chance?

Just installing the ‘Essentials’, didn’t work for me.

The most recent I have tried (trial version) is TMPGenc video mastering works 6. Or, use Vegas Pro (render regions scripts). My old box runs CineForm intermediates at full speed on a 2nd monitor set for ‘Best (auto).

Hi Sidney,
To do this on one track (make sure ‘Auto Ripple’ is turned off), start by inserting ‘My Vid’. Move the cusor to the point you want to switch to ‘His Vid’. At this point split ‘My Vid’ using the keyboard ‘S’ key. Grab the rest of ‘My Vid’ (beyond the split point) and drag it right out of the way allowing room to insert ‘Hi Vid’.
Now insert ‘His Vid’ butted up to ‘My Vid’ at the point you split it.
Now move along and position the cusor at the point in ‘His Vid’ that you want to switch back to ‘My Vid’, and split ‘His Vid’. Grab the rest of ‘His Vid’ (beyond the split point) and drag it right out of the way (beyond the rest of ‘My Vid’). Now move ‘My Vid’ left on the track to butt up against ‘Hi Vid’. So on and so forth.
That’s just one way, of many, you can do it.

I think the simple answer is…..when you place a video clip (media) from the Project Media bin to the Timeline, it then becomes an event. It’s Vegas nomenclature.
