I had the same problem and called Miranda. They said that the problem was probably due to the Kona 9 pin deck control and asked if I had a Keyspan USB serial adapter. Luckily, I had one from an older Avid system (which I coincidently sold for the Final Cut HD/Kona 3 system). I downloaded and installed the software drivers, plugged it in and set Final Cut to control the Miranda deck with the Keyspan instead of the Kona 9 pin cable. At this point, I was able to batch digitize just fine.
I was onlining a 1 hour 45 minute 6 camera concert, 2 of the cameras were HDV. Needless to say, there were plenty of HDV clips to be re-digitized. Everything worked fine, the only issue was that I had to keep an eye on the Miranda deck because it would need to be reset (power cycle) occasionally. Other than that it worked fine.
