I am in your camp. What does the development team at Adobe not understand. Today’s edit session invariably includes elements from every imaginable format, including VOB. FCP has compressor. In keeping with tight integration of Bridge etc., one would think Adobe would face this void. (Like make a project based subclip on the timeline for elements that don’t conform) But it is my feeling, and Jon just reiterated, the cool tools from Adobe are for web based content, and MAC based integration.
If you want a 64 bit PC app that will fill your needs for film based production, or corporate polished pieces, you are on the wrong forum. I am truly sorry about that, as I used to be a big fan of Premiere. Evey year I thought yeah this will be it…….
Adobe still rocks for AE PS, DW, AI etc. One would think that if Adobe so desired, they could lead the market for NLE as witnessed by AE. After emptying my bank account for the Master collection which does not include Audition, I will not be upgrading until they resolve some basic deficiencies, which by the way are not considered off of this forum.
Maybe I am just venting after congress passed the rescue package and left the rest of us holding the bag. So everyone just forget this post and be happy with your tools that work. Tomorrow is another day. “That’s if we still have jobs”.

Are you on XP 32? If so 8 gb of RAM is too much. Do a search on 3 gbs switch. -

September 5, 2008 at 1:44 am in reply to: Any luck with intesity and Opterons?I have had a number of these boards working with Multibridge extreme, and HD extreme cards and Quadro 4500, but have never tried an intensity. Its a very stable system once configured. Runs everything. BIOS settings are a little tricky, and you need to start with latest flash for this board, as they fixed some issues with PCIe bandwidth share. V1.05 or 6, I kind of forget. Also approved ECC registered RAM is a necessity. If you have done everything right, and instability is an issue, I would suspect a power supply. These CPUs are heaters, and its not going to run on a 400 watt vanilla supply reliably. If you are running VISTA drivers may be a problem.

August 26, 2008 at 1:01 pm in reply to: Decklink HD Extreme 2 and Vista 64 Cannot Capture Audio[Cort Wenzel] “So my question is: what are audio pins 14 and 15 from the consumer breakout cable for? How do I use them? It seems a bit silly to have those pins, but no way to use them in Premiere..”
Those would be for Analog audio, while capturing analog video.
However you will never be able to capture audio from them if Premiere does not see a valid audio capture device. Thats what you need to work on. I just have a sneaky feeling that you have issues with the TB sound card not playing right with BM Drivers. Maybe call BM support.

August 25, 2008 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Decklink HD Extreme 2 and Vista 64 Cannot Capture AudioHmmm I’m not sure, but my guess from what you are describing indicates that there is no ASIO Driver being detected. It is normally installed with the sound card. I do not beleive Decklink or Adobe installs it.
You could try the driver at http://www.asioforall.com
The EX was just for example bars and tone generated by Adobe using decklink hardware.

June 17, 2008 at 11:41 pm in reply to: HDMI Capture w/DV deck controlThanks Jeremy and Gary for stickin with. The whitepaper helped lock it.
It works with right combinations of Z1 settings and Deck condtrol settings in FCP, and Aja IO set up for HDMI. We will use and post settings when comfortable that all is well. -

June 17, 2008 at 10:28 pm in reply to: HDMI Capture w/DV deck control[Jeremy Garchow] “You do have your deck in 1394 DV mode and not HDV mode, correct?”
Why would that be? The clips are HDV 1080I. We can capture the HDV with Aja io off and native HDV just fine, with deck control, TC etc. However this is our first attempt at using the Z1 on this system this way. So something else to try. (DV instead of HDV mode for deck control) I did a thread search for HDV deck control last night, but nothing came up indicating that as a work flow.
