I’m dealing with a different output issue and just upgraded my KONA LHe from 5.11 version to 6.0.1. I called KONA and there is no firmware update to be done on the LH or LHe only the KONA3. So if you have an LHe and your info tab of the AJA control panel is showing the correct version…you are OK.

This link may help. Apparently slot placement is different if you have the “old” pre 2008 MacPro:

We had the same issue with same hardware/drivers running FCS2….actually had the same problem with the Decklink HD card as well as the KONA. We moved the card into the first PCIe slot and this resolved the issue. It may be worth a try for you.

December 21, 2007 at 3:31 pm in reply to: Digital Betacam Vs HD XDCAM

Completely agree with this post. We have the PDW 530 SD XDCAM versus BVP570 cameras matched with DVW 250 DigiBeta portable decks. The PDW 530 has 2/3 CCD and with IMX50(4:2:2/8bit) we are not seeing a drop off versus Digibeta (4:2:2/10 bit). The XDCAM’s have been rock solid and the convenience of disk is invaluable at this point…cost, ingest, storage.

We also have the 1/2 inch HD XDCAM(PDW350L) and I would agree that in downconverting SD, the end product is inferior to both Digibeta and SD XDCAM.

Everything is fully rendered, one layer of video and I’m using a GRAID2 as my primary scratch disk. I also should have mentioned it will lock up with same warning just playing on the timeline. We tried trashing the preferences with no luck and ran repair permissions on all hard disks. It is more than just one project.

Getting an error while laying off in Final Cut Studio 5.1. The footage was captured via a Declink Extreme card uncompressed. The error states RT Extreme dropped frames could be caused by

    -slow disks
    -too many RT layers
-RT Bandwith settings in user prefs

    Any ideas?

It is an Intel based Mac Pro 1,1. After Effects version 7.0 and we also have Adobe Photoshop CS2 on it. I gather from your post that it may not load into Final Cut on an Intel based Mac??

Yes we tried the HDV 1080i60 setup with same problems.
Michael G…We’re going to try the firewire and HD SDI setup…sounds like it might work.. I’ll have to wait until the camera is available. Thanks to all for their help
