    Thanks!

    Hey John

Thanks for coming back on this. I seem to have written the wrong lens down – I actually use the 17-55mm Canon lens which is a constant F.Stop.

I just struggle to get sharp focus on a deep shot – so if I have someone walking from behind the camera across the shot to the other side of the room and I want them in focus the whole time I struggle to get sharp results.

Also the noise always seems at its worse in the midtones?

  • ahh yes – sorry!

I am using the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens with the 7D

    Hi Michael

How do I go about reducing the amount of compression if I wanted to go that route? What particular settings should I look at?

    Thanks

    Hi Michael

I am compressing to h.264 with a 8mb data rate – a 3 minute film coming out at 155mb in size for youtube

Do you need any other info?

    Thanks the response

My workflow is basically editing in premiere and grading and effects in AE. I do 3 to 4 music films a week that are around 5mins long. All fairly basic

So workflow wise can instore everything in one place – caches and footage from both apps?

    Great – thanks Walter

Yes the IMac does have a thunderbolt connection – can you recommend a cheap drive at all? Will I then store everything on this new drive? (All caches, footage etc)

    Hi Walter

I am running on iMac 2.7GHz Interl Core i5 with 12GB memory 1333 MHZ DDR3

    I have a firewire Lacie 1TB external

Basically I am using AE for titles, basic effects and grading – I have just moved to Premiere from Final Cut so it will be working with Premiere Pro Projects. So it would be handy to know the most efficient way to run these two programs (ie where to store the cache, the footage etc etc_)

    Thanks Walter

    Hi Vishesh

Thanks so much for coming back to me on this

So should I put both caches onto the Lacie – the disk and media that it mentions?

Also I am running Premiere CS6 and importing the projects into AE – should I therefore put Premiere folders on the Lacie too? If so would that be the footage?

    Gavin
