Thanks Bret!
It also looked good because i previewed it on an HD TV, through a Blu ray player connected by HDMI
same footage played on a SD DVD player and connected through an RC cable looked crap! 🙂

Hi Chris…
I think Brets summed it for me 🙂
I basically want to know two things
1. when i burn a 1080i MOV exported from a HD timeline, through toast, what format is it?
2. If the final DVD output is SD, should i change my timeline to SD widescreen as i need to add some SD footage now?
Thanks

Thanks Bret! its definitely not Blu Ray 🙂
So the whole ‘HD DVD’ (which i just learnt is a dead format) is not HD.. so what was it?
Because when I burn the 1080i MOV in toast the output looks good and the aspect ratio looks like the timeline.

Hi Steve! Thanks for the reply.
Just to clarify.. the DVD is SD, but has 16:9 ratio because it’s a widescreen SD and and looks better (maybe)
because it was made from a HD sourceam i way off? 🙂

Re: 5D 24p and Zoom audio drifting in Final Cut Pro

Found out something interesting about importing audio in Final Cut Pro that happens behind the scenes. You MUST have your easy setup set to your current framerate you want to use with your audio BEFORE importing your audio. FCP transcodes your audio to that framerate ON IMPORT!I originally had mine set to 24p and then dragged my audio into my Bin. There was my problem. Later, I deleted my zoom audio, set my easy setup to 23.98 and reimported my audio. Wallah! Everything was in sync. Crazy weird issue, but that’s how FCP does it.
Apple please give us that option on import of audio!! Thanks.

Thanks Bill!
We’re using the Zoom H4n with a direction mic on a boom.
Just a quick question – will you do your edit on a 24p timeline or A 23.98?
If the final output is a DVD what would you suggest?
Thanks

Hi Tom,
I downloaded it.. installed it.. and doubled clicked the icon to launch.
The software crashes and fails to open.
I turned the IO box off, application launches.. but ofcourse says could not detect hardware.
With the app launched if i turn the IO box on.. the app crashes
Any ideas on this?
Thanks
