Are any of the clips you’re trying to add Color FX to already effected in some way using Media 100? I’ve found I can only have one Color FX applied – rendered or not. Work-arounds involve Boris or After Effects to add “layers” of effects.

You have to Shift-select the clip that has the Color FX applied so that it is included with all the clips you want to change – then go to Tools>apply Color FX too selected clips.

Something to keep in mind, if you should want to sync those, or any clips, you can only do it one at a time… as far as I know, we can’t sync multiple clips.

Sounds to me that the drives need to be formatted for Mac OS.

I have a DVD recorder that I use for client approval purposes. They’re relatively cheap these days. I use the analogue signal looped through my CRT monitor to feed the recorder, and then just play the timeline with the TC displayed. The audio is from an output on my Mackie mixer. The picture quality is obviously not as good as it could be, but for client approval purposes it works for me… quick and easy.

Yes, when setting up the Final Cut input. Do a test on a couple of shots before changing all of them – I’ve never done this so I’m not speaking from experience. Let us know how it works.

Try changing the Field Dominance to Upper (Odd).

Use the Mac OS Disk Utility to format your external drive as MS-DOS (FAT), the PC should be able to recognize it. Copy the files (there may be a 2 GB size limit for any single file), and then plug the drive into the Mac. Don’t forget to format the drive back to Mac OS after you copy the files to your Mac… and don’t forget that formatting erases all data on a drive.

Or, you can get all the Ethernet configuration instructions you need using the Help menu on your Mac.

Or, if you have access to an external Blu-ray burner you could burn 25-50GB data files per disc.
