    Roy,

Open your System Preferences – open the Display Preferences – if possible, set the resolution to a higher value – go back to your desktop and drag the viewer window into the centre of your screen – reset your screen resolution to your liking.

    Hope this helps.

Check to see that the keyboard layout has not been accidently changed to something else… this has happened to me on occasion when my thumbs get too big and I hit keys I don’t intend to.

Open system preferences and select International – is your keyboard set to U.S.?

Wow!! Obama really has made a change! 😉

That’s good news for sure, but I’ll take your advice and wait a bit. Thanks Wick

November 12, 2008 at 5:08 pm in reply to: Producer – embedded framework

Thanks Floh. I’m currently running OS 10.5.5 (and have been since it came out) with my HDe system. I got caught there with the QT upgrade as well but used Pacifist as per your instructions to revert to 7.5. I left the OS at 10.5.5 though and all seems to be good (touch wood). I usually keep the downloaded .dmg files for the versions I purchase but somehow slipped up with that version of Producer on my laptop. I’m leaning towards upgrading to v13 very soon anyway (for HDe) and I just may do so for Producer as well, making my problem moot. Thanks for your reply… and good suggestion regarding an “Older Versions” link on Media 100’s site. Wick?…

As well, here is a quote from an Oct. 15 post from Wick:

[Wickham Strub] “Version 13 does NOT solve the Quicktime 7.5.5 problem.

If you want/need to use the Media 100 i codec or the Motion JPEG B codec then you’ll have to stay on QT 7.5.

If you want/need to use QT 7.5.5 then you’ll have to stay away from the Media 100 i codec and the Motion JPEG B codec.

Let us know how things work out for you.

[Maxwell Federman] “What needs to happen in order to allow m100 to see this?”

Nothing. Formatting your drives as HFS+ is an operating system thing – it has nothing to do with Media 100. If your OS recognizes the drive as such, so will any software you run.

Oops! Some of my words are missing from my previous post… sorry about that. It should read:

… If so, make sure you set the i.Link Convert to OFF in the M10 menu. If it’s not that or a bad cable (have you tried a different firewire cable?), I don’t know what else to suggest – as I said, I don’t use FCP.

    Hi Chuck,

Before you go much further with attempts to fix your problem, I suggest you back up all your important files – of course you do that regularly anyway, right? 🙂 – and then restart using your OS install disc. Use Disk Utility on the install disc to repair your disc. If that doesn’t work for you, then try Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro. Beyond that I have no other suggestions. HTH.

    Hi Mark,

I don’t use FCP, but I do use a HVR M10. I assume you have chosen your input settings to accept HDV footage as opposed to DV. If so, make sure you set the to in the M10 menu. If it’s not that or a bad cable (have you tried a different firewire cable?), I don’t know what else to suggest – as I said, I don’t use FCP.
