OK so know this is probably something simple, but the command + c (copy) shortcut isn’t working. The keyboard in question is about a month old, so basically brand new. I don’t know if this a mere preferences thing or should I try to get an exchange….any thoughts out there? Thanks in advance for any insight!!!

    hello…

[Toby Van Kleeck] “The keyboard in question is about a month old, so basically brand new.”

do the keys work in other combinations (cmd-a, cmd-v, etc.) or on their own?

i don’t know of any app that ever lets you set those shortcuts via preferences, so it’s likely not that…

Good question. I’m actually not at home right now (where the keyboard is) but I know cmd + v isn’t working either. I’m gonna try a reboot and plug the keyborad in again just for the hell of it, hopefully that should work….Thanks!

Check to see that the keyboard layout has not been accidently changed to something else… this has happened to me on occasion when my thumbs get too big and I hit keys I don’t intend to.

Open system preferences and select International – is your keyboard set to U.S.?

Does the same thing happen with both the command keys (there are 2)?
Does the same thing happen with a different keyboard?
