  • Actually I have an object with many polygons (It’s a stylized letter J). On the outside of the J are uniformly spaced polygons. I want to apply a texture to each group of 30 contiguous polygons. Think of a video wall, but curved and closed.

I could select the 30 polygons, set the selection, and then place a material on the object and have it apply to the selection. I don’t know how many groups of 30 I will end up with, so it could take a while to do these series of steps.

So I am asking other what method they would choose, if there are other methods.

Create cube, make editable (c key), select polygon tool, select side of cube you want to delete and then press delete key. Hope this is what you are after.

    Hi Edward,

I disabled ToolTips and that makes things move along a LOT more quickly. Thank you!

I tried some of the Fragmentation presets again and the software moved along quite well. There was still one preset that essentially locked up ProAnimator, but I do not recall which preset it was. If I discover which one(s), I will let you know.

OK, so I tried again and discovered that the preset I used was causing the problem. It was the Fragmentations – Frag – Pour On preset, specifically. So for now, I will avoid the Fragmentation presets. The snappy performance has returned and everything else is working as it should. But I would still like to know why the preset causes so much trouble.

  • OK, after having googled some more and not having found a solution, I bit the bullet and purchased ClipWap 2. Resulting clips import with no problems.

    Thanks for the assistance.

  • Thanks for the reply.

    I am running OS X 10.8.5 and FCP X 10.0.9.

I did copy the entire folder to another folder on the hard drive. The AVCHD folder has an icon with a Q on it, and the description says, “AVCHD contents.” Again, that folder is grayed out and is inaccessible in Final Cut Pro X.

I clicked on the AVCHD folder and chose SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS until I could see the MTS files. I even copied those files to the folder that the files structure from the card is in. They are also greyed out in FCP. When I try to play those files, the Quicktime player is grayed out, too.

Yes, I am viewing at 100 percent. I’ll just leave as is – maybe it’s just me expecting too much.

    Thanks.

I just purchased the upgrade today and installed it into both AE CS6 and AE CC. No problems with either. Running Windows 7.
