Right-click in the media pool and choose Select Timeline Events.

It would be wise to consider spending the extra $$ now on HDV rather than investing in a technology that people are making the move away from. You can always produce SD video with HD gear, but not the other way around.

On the other hand, there are just going to be more and more bargans on SD gear as the move to HD progresses.

I think I read somewhere that this is software designed to do this.

Anyway, in Vegas, my approach would be to put two versions of the video on two tracks. The bottom one unaltered, and the top one with a cookie cutter and blur applied to the offending area.

I am postulating that you’d previously reset the track properties, and therefore each new track will be set that way.

Seems like you reset the default track properties which you do by right-clicking the track header and choosing Set Default Track Properties (i.e to current settings).
