The change occurs over time between keyframes, so if you move the keyframes closer together, it happens faster.

You right-click the box that defines the area of the image you are seeing. Choose Restore Box.

[Allen Zagel] “Otherwise with my VX 2000 I can’t record tapeless unless I use the Analog out (RCA). Still have to have a tape in the camera but the DVD”

I use Vegas capture via firewire with no problems (with or without a tape). You just need to turn off Enable DV Device Control.

Thanks for that. I had not worked with FX that way.
BTW, you CAN use the FX automation with this setup.

Yes, I’ve done it on several shoots, including one with about 25 hours of capture over a 3 day period. Worked like a charm.

I’m saying that using a laptop is an alternative to the Firestore if mobility is not an issue.

[metalmaster] “one of my movies is getting cut off”

Double-click that file and take a look at the timeline for that media. Make sure that the outpoint flag is all the way to the end of the clip.

[Terry Esslinger] “Would you do it again or are there viable alternatives?”

If you are shooting from a fixed position, you can capture straight to hard drive using a laptop.

The following explanation assumes you have some knowledge of using keyframes in Vegas.
I assume that your small window is created using track motion.
Place a keyframe where you want to start changing the size, then place the cursor where you want the image to be full size (assuming the sync cursor is turned on)then right-click the box and choose ‘restore’. this will set the image to full size and make a keyframe at that point in time.

The result will be that the image will change size over the duration of the two keyframes.
