    Ralph,

The volume name is the name of the DVD. That’s what will show when you put the disc into a computer or DVD player.

Select Burn parameters is just a directive to select Burn or Test burn (Burn is default).

  • First of all, film is WAY higher resolution than video, so the source material is higher quality to start with.

Second, there are wole departments filled with people whose only job is to tweak the encoding for each individual scene.

Third, a pressed (replicated) DVD can hold more information than a burned one. Thus, the overhead for file size is higher.

Can you make a high quality 96 minute DVD? Certainly. Do you have a high quality master?

The biggest factor will be the quality of the sound card you are using. Most built-in ones are very noisy.

The quality of the video is not a question because you are transfering digital information. Firewire drives have the advantage of being able to have several daisy-chained together. USB drives work fine also.

April 27, 2005 at 3:47 pm in reply to: DVDA 2.0 how to loop menu backgrounds?

[Larry Watts] “I have a 30 sec mpg to use as a backround for the main menu.
I thought in DVDA 1.0 I could loop the file. I can’t find a way to loop it in 2.0
(maybe I am wrong about 1.0.)

Can you set in and out points for a menu background mpg file?

Can you adjust the volume on an audio file background? “

Loop the backgound by going to Menu Page Properties>End Action>Command>Loop

No, you cannot set the in/out points on the menu background media. Render it as you need it in Vegas.

Same with audio, render the length and volume in Vegas.

We recommend that you uninstall the previous version first. Registration code should still carry over.

If all software had the features of every other piece of software, then we would only need one (mega) software package.
