Because there’s the possibility that FCP7 will not be usable under Lion (“running” and actually being usable can be two entirely different ideas), and Apple may drop their MacPro line.

    That’s why.

That’s like saying you have a new rendering engine in QuickTime that makes playing back older .MOV files impossible.

If you feel that way, then you shouldn’t have replied in the first place.

Why would you post a screenshot showing that it is possible without accompanying instructions as to how to make that happen?

[Dan Newton]2. can I import FP7 work files into FCP X or is that not possible?

    That is currently not possible.

    3. Will Magic Bullet work for FCP X or do I need to buy an upgrade for magic Bullet?

Plugins for FCP X from Magic Bullet are said to be in development, but they have not been released yet. I’d be willing to bet that we’ll see them released near the end of the year if they didn’t get the SDK until after FCP X was released.

[Jeff Kirkland]It’s certainly more useable than FCPX on my two year old MacBook Pro.

So your MacBook Pro is, what, the Core 2 Duo version? That’s pretty sad that your old Mac Pro is more usable. Could you add more ram to the laptop, maybe?

  • [Nick Toth]it froze, crashed with a very cryptic Windows looking error message and my laptop would not run properly the next day…

What do you mean by “Windows looking error message”? And what do you mean by “not run properly”?

[Devin Crane]I don’t know much about Xsan but there is a simple code fix that allows FCPX to see Xsan volumes. If you search for it I’m sure you will find it.

If you don’t know much about it, and you don’t even know where to link to for the “simple code fix,” then how do we know it even actually exists?

You can always easily upgrade the graphics card…I wonder how well that CPU would hold up though.

But when do you “install” Twitter? It’s just a web service, not a program.
