No, it’s not right. I use 5DtoRGB with GH2 footage all the time and it looks fantastic.

MacBook Pro will also have a dedicated GPU, which will help immensely in working with FCPX.

I actually just had this error myself, and I also thought it had something to do with my MacBook Pro and/or Lion, but it failed to playback properly in the camera or copy on a Windows machine. Thankfully, I was able to recover the footage with a utility.

Yes, I should have clarified. AE’s ray tracer won’t utilize OpenCL, apparently, so those tests are basically CPU render time, not CPU+GPU render time like the NVIDIA chipset allows.

Well, that’s because the After Effects ray tracer requires CUDA, so if they hadn’t performed the hack to make the 650M chipset work in After Effects, the numbers would have been similar.

I think Blackmagic taking over AVID would be interesting. It would be a loss for sure if we lost AVID, but we still have Final Cut (as long as Apple continues to improve it), Premiere CS6 (which I love), Vegas, Edius, ect. ect.
We still have it pretty good.

I definitely think there’s some kind of market for that. News stations are airing a lot of YouTube material, and the iPad can generate better quality than that.
