I usually set a timeline marker at the head and tail and toggle between them to make sure the loop is correct.
If you need to see it in motion:
Drop the current comp into a new comp and duplicate the layer. Move layer 2 down so it starts when layer 1 ends. Set your work space accordingly and RAM preview. -
[Shane Ross] “oftware I used at one point cost…well, A LOT. $10,ooo. And was complicated.”
Was it Curious Maps? There were bought out by VizRT, which also falls under the category of complicated and expensive.https://vizrt.com/products/article231.ece

While I haven’t used a greenie in a while I’ll often put one in my pocket just to get a rise out of the engineers. “Hey what are you doing with that?” Soon enough they are tending to the problem that they were ignoring a few moments ago. It is a magical tool.

At this time there are no other options for viewing HD. Avid has hinted that they will be adding other 3rd party solutions into the mix (AJA, Blackmagic, etc.), but there’s no definitive timeline on when these alternatives will be available.
If you switch the project format to SD you should be able to use your Mojo to see the output on an external monitor (SD). Yes, it’s not the same as viewing HD, but it’s something until MC 5 ships.

You might want to have a look at this:

Haven’t used it myself so I don’t know how well it works or doesn’t.

You’ll find plenty of free tutorials here or other sites like Andrew’s. If you’re looking for something more structured, from the basics to the advanced techniques. You should have a look at Lynda.com or Total Training online. They both have free trial periods to see if you like the training.
Regarding some sort of official accredited program, forget about it. This business is about your reel. You either have it or you don’t. A piece of paper or a line on a resume isn’t going to any effect on landing a job.

Yes, the BCC managed to convince Adobe to correct the pixel dimensions. Chris’ point is that all the other developers are using the same dimensions that have served the industry for a very long time. Will the others change? I doubt it. I don’t understand changing the specs on a format that’s fading away (standard def). This is like changing the harness used for a horse drawn carriage during the dawn of the automobile. Why bother?
At the end of the day the difference between the old 16:9 dimensions and the new 16:9 dimensions is so small no will notice if you use the wrong dimension. Well, no one except the uptight tea sippers at the BBC.
Fortunately HD is square pixels so everyone will be on the same page.

Out of curiosity I googled some of the companies you mentioned.
Here are the results:
AJA – the home page mentions Adobe CS5 and Avid. No mention of FCP.
https://www.aja.com/Matrox video – the home page mentions “solutions for Avid and Adobe CS5”. No mention of FCP.
https://www.matrox.com/video/en/home/Blackmagic Design – Mentions Adobe CS5. No mention of FCP or Avid MC.
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/?nab=12Looking at these web pages it’s difficult to tell how much investment these companies have in FCP. Are they “all in” as you imply or are they hedging their bets?

We currently aren’t using digital delivery , however we will be utilizing it sooner than later. The preliminary research I’ve done on DG Systems found a reasonable price on SD spots, but the cost of delivering HD was off the map. For us it is far cheaper to simply make dubs of the HD spots. I understand the added value of tracking, guaranteed delivery, the higher cost of HD dubs (if necessary), etc. However 10x the cost of SD is a bit much. I’m going to look into Extreme Reach to see what they have to offer.
I second the motion to create an article on this subject.
