Ribbon boards. Joy. It’s like drawing pictures on shoelaces.

You could give CompsFromSpreadsheet a try.

I used it on a project last year with about 700 names. It worked like a champ. I’m not sure if it will fit your specific needs. You could try the demo and see if it works.

It looks a lot like Izotopes’s RX4. It won a best of Show award at NAB a couple of years ago.

    Interesting technology.

[Lior Aouate] “my final show that has 3 projectors with 3 films. The films will be synchronized between them(one audio source, and similar images).”

Synchronizing the playback of multiple videos is possible, but it’s not easy or cheap.

Here’s an old thread from the Live & Stage Events forum that you may find useful.

AE CompsFromSpreadsheet works for my needs.

Drive it around and see if it fits the bill.

EVS paired with Avid Transfer Manager and Interplay is a slick combination. The integration between the systems is quite amazing.

If the material is coming on a portable drive (for example; an OB truck) the EVS operator can set up the server to rewrap the files on export. As always, a little bit of pre production planning can save a ton of time in post.

June 14, 2013 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Batching videos into Gifs – possible action?

[Kirsten Noel] “File > Import > Video Frames to Layers”

I think this is the source of the problem. Instead of importing the file, simply open the file in PS. I tried this and when I saved for web it retained the original file name and changed the extension to GIF.

Make an action to resize to 70 x 87
Make an action to save for web (GIF)

Make an action that plays the scale action and then plays the save for web action (Scale and GIF)

Choose File > Automate > Batch > select the Scale and GIF action > select the source folder

This should batch process the files and put them in the same folder as the source files.

    Give it a shot.

*Note – I wasn’t working with ProRes video for my test. I used a Quicktime movie (animation codec).

  • Be aware that video over CAT 5 will have latency issues. For iMag this is a dealbreaker. I think you should continue to look for SDI options.

Contact Cablevision to find out the exact specs. There’s no standard, it depends on the broadcaster.

[Kevin Hedin] “We are considering 1080p30 as a standard”

I’m curious why you wouldn’t acquire in the same format that you’re using for broadcast – 1080/59.94i

You should have a look at XDCAM HD, well suited for ENG work.
