HDCam does not support frames larger than 1920×1080.
HDCamSR only supports beyond 1920 x1080 recording on the 5800 Series deck with a specific add on package.

Name me a camera that has internal recording that does not require media inserted to function correctly, and that is the case with any of the Sony Tapeless cameras in the EX and XDCam lines that I can think of.
I think it seems you are confusing the KiPros ability as waning instead of functionality of the camera itself, but those are 2 distinctly different things.

Correct
that is the same functionality as Arri’s Alexa and many other cameras, I do not understand the nature of your complaints.gary adcock

Were the cards in a windows machine prior?
They maybe from the period before the hardware was unified across platform.
you will need to force the firmware update on the card to convert it to mac from PC.
install the mac driver software before installing the cards.
Install ONE card and then Boot into “safe mode” and force the firmware update via the aja software tools.
the machine should then re-boot correctly. I do not believe that you can run 2 LHe’ cards in a mac at the same time, newer LHI cards do allow for this.

Mike
that would depend on the shooter and the conditions,Alexa’s workflow allows you to capture and start your edit while still on location, not rely on the differing film labs and having to create offline of your film masters.
If you are planning on going film consider 16mm as it offers greater flexibility and film has proven archival, the Digital workflows required by Alexa will compound the gear and power requirements immensely, and power issues n some countries is nothing short of abysmal.

Funny I asked a bunch of Engineers about this and all of them said this has not been an issue with cameras for more than 20yrs So What does this have to do with the needs of 35MM vs Alexa during location shooting around the world in non-studio situations.

Hey John,
The KiPro’s use the RP188 protocols for start stop functionality, where when the TC setting is set to RP188 and the record function is to TC / ARM, when the start stop pulse is sent down the HDSDI pipe and the camera senses TC the recording starts.
if you are working in a post situation where the TC is over LTC, as long you are not using continuous house sync, and the TC starts and stops over the LTC is should work the same,/
