The Thunderbolt related issue is only on the latest MBP’s.
Michael’s is a different issue that can be fixed by re-installing the drivers when NOT using Thunderbolt.

I do not understand.
Anamorphic traditionally refers to lenses that squeeze a wider than screen image onto 4:3 area?
anamorphicly captured materials are not “automatically flagged” in any NLE that I know of.

“no, but I have been in touch with both parties and an update is due later in November.
As has been mentioned here, this issue only affects 2012 MBP’s running the latest 10.8.2 & latest TB firmware update.
The current work around is to create a disk image of the contents of your SxS Media then transfer from the cloned card.

The problem is understanding the issue. The 5800 default output is PSF, not P.
With Aja You will need to capture the signal as 25psf or choose 25i and then change the field order to none.

“Unfortunately it is not sonnet’s problem. Sony wrote the driver.
The the only easy work around is to clone the media then transfer the data, for some reason you can create disk images of the media.
Or keep one system back a generation at all times.

As usual there are different camps reporting different issues.
Sonnet and I have determined that the issue is specific to the Apple 2012 Laptops, but we are not sure if it is the firmware update or the OSX 10.8.2 release.
It is not affecting anything but my retina laptop at this time, but it does not allow me to copy from the SxS media via a TB connection- if you are not using Thunderbolt this does not appear to effect your workflow

The Issue seems to be with the latest 2012 laptops and possibly the latest TB firmware update from Apple.
another good reason to never update in the middle of a project.

That version of the driver is only on the Sonnet support page as far as I know.

You cannot modify UDF volumes via the Mac OS.
You cannot copy anything from the volume.
You cannot clone the SxS card
You cannot modify the volume.the SxS call actually locks the machine up completely- good news is pulling the card from the reader releases the FINDER without a reboot.
