Placing everything in one drive is not a good idea. PP performance will be increased using dedicated drives for each content. You´ll get the best performance having a main drive for only the operating system, second drive for pagefile, media cache and previews, and the fastest drive (Adobe recommends Raid 0 for HD editing) for media (footage) and proyects (.prproj). It would be perfect if you could have a fourth drive for exports and renders.

The Maximum Render Quality mode will maximize the quality of motion in rendered clips and sequences. So when you select this option, the video will often render moving objects more sharply. Maximum Render Quality also maintains sharp detail when scaling from large formats to smaller formats, or from high-definition to standard-definition formats. For the highest quality exports you should always use the Maximum Render Quality mode.

You could export to an external disc the hole proyect and media in System A using the Proyect Manager, then use this external hd in System B to open the proyect exactly as in System A while you go on working in other proyects in this A System.

You can downscale 1080 to 720, where you won´t have quality loss but your master edit will be in 720p res., or you can upscale 720 to 1080 losing quality in 720 footage unless you apply any filter like MB Instant HD, rendering time will be longer but it will work fine and you will be able to save a master of your edit at the highest resolution (1080p). Then you can export to different res. and formats based in this high res. timeline.

Dear Tom, as nvidia says in this article, CUDA do accelerate h264 encoding, al least that´s what i understood (sorry it´s in spanish):

In this other place (https://www.studio1productions.com/Articles/PremiereCS5.htm )there are benchmark tests using timeline Rendering
MPE GPU Hardware and Time Line Rendering MPE only Software. It´s not h264 encoding but Mpeg2 dvd, and there are big differences in encoding times, so cuda seems to be affirmatively affecting in rendering times. See point 9 in the article.

Could it be that your friend has an Nvidia Graphics card? Cuda enabled cards do accelerate the h264 encoding, but unfortunately your card is an ATI one, which doesn´t admit CUDA acceleration, only Nvidia cards do. The fact is that filters sharpen and lens distortion correction you have applied are rather heavy going.
Another thing is that the best option to make the export is sending the render files to a different hard disk from the ones where operating system is installed or original media placed.

If you have changes in pp timeline you´ll have to link it to Encore as a new proyect anyway due to this minor changes. So delete all your media cache (in PP Preferences menu/media), deselect “use previews” in the pp export settings (this is an important step because if you haven´t rendered new previews pp can be using older ones to send to Encore), save the proyect with different name, and delete all the temp files you find in EncoreDVD folder, to avoid him taking the older version linked. Just try and see the results, you have nothing to loose.

Try deleting all the media cache in the PP preferences, deselect “use previews” in the PP export settings and then save the proyect with other name before linking to Encore. I´m not really sure it will work, but you can have a try.
