Wow, this looks too odd. I don´t think it could be a ram problem, but probably a graphics card one… Have you tried to update your graphics card drivers? If affirmative, have you tried to return to the old ones?

I´ve worked in PP in both, a Mac and a PC, and my impression is that it runs better in a PC. I´ve noticed that the program has more effects and transitions in the pc version. I´ve noticed too that there are some filters like the Crop effect than can be fully controled directly with mouse in the program monitor in pc version but not in the mac one. Perhaps there are some more differences unknown to me, but my experience is that pc version has more functionalities.

It depends in the desired resolution of the final video.
Not good idea mixing different resolution and framerated clips into the same seq. You´ll have to reduce higher res. clips to the standard res. of your premiere seq. to avoid quality loss, and interpret footage to match framerate. Instead, you can choose a 1920×1080 seq. and enlarge smaller clips using a plugin like MB Instant HD.

Sorry, perharps i´m not understanding you very well, but i think your problem has nothing to do with framerate, but with resolutions. If the final cut image is about 25% of the premiere screen is because your premiere proyect size doesn´t fit the final cut´s sequence size/resolution. Check if you´re mixing different resolution clips in the same premiere seq.

Add the final cut clips to the premiere timeline by dragging them directly to the “New element” icon in lower side of Proyect Pannel to create a new sequence that fits exactly the size, framerate and format of these clips.

If you don´t want to add them to a new sequence but to a previously 25 fps created sequence with a different resolution & framerate clips in it, you´ll have to resize always and Interpret footage.

You can change the anchor point too in the parameters of the Motion effect, selecting and moving it in X and Y axis, so the video will take it as reference to rotation, scale, etc…

Try Neatvideo for denoising your videos, is the best program i know for this job, it works really fine; there´s a plugin for Premiere Pro CS5.5 avalilabe, so you won´t need to export them to AE and then back again.

Anyway, have you tried to import the pp proyect (.prproj file) into AE?
I think this could be one option to do what you need.

It´s not too much work animating the motion blur filter for a transition effect, only have to do it once, put 2 keyframes in the start of the clip and two more in the end, and then you can save this pre-adjust and use it in any other clip whenever you need it.

Anyway there´s a post by Tom Daigon in this forum with a link to free transitions for PP and FCP that could be usefull for you, here it is: https://www.filmimpact.net/index.php/plugins/
There are samples of all the transitions offered, just take a look and choose the one that fits your needs.
