    Hi Shane,
I’ve already read some of your posts around here. Tonight I was looking for some advice on subtitling and I stoped at this post of yours. I know it was written a year ago but I was just thinking the same : I’ve got tired of people talking about this or that software or plugins to subtitle a video / movie. I couldn’t understand why a editing video software like FCP was not able to do it ? and moreover : Why people demonized so much the text generator inside FCP ?
I will give FCP a chance.

    Thanks.

    Hi there …
could you tell me where I can find a tutorial or some words on how to do it with FCP itselve ? I’ve got tired of people talking about this or that software or plugins to subtitle a video / movie. I couldn’t understand why a editing video software like FCP was not able to do it ? and moreover : Why people demonized so much the text generator inside FCP ?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks Michael,
If I go for FCP 5 I will make the movies DVCPRO50 because FCP 5 doesn’t hold PRORES but if I go for FCP6 I will go for PRORES.

    Thanks again …

This tutorial I have already wached at Ripplettraining.com. What I’m looking for is some tutorial that explains how to make those 3 elements of the Alpha Transitions:
    -Clip
    -Clip Alpha Matte
    -Wipe Matte
Moreover, how I could use a simple picture or drawings out of Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.

  • Thanks Brian for your response.
I was looking all over the places on internet for similar problems and nobody says a thing about it. I read only one guy saying that once my material is 1080i to be put on a SD DVD (intelaced), it is not necessary to deinterlace it.
I will check all you have said and will let you know.
    Thanks to everybody.
