    Hi there.
I do most documentaries for tv, and what works for me is deinterlace it in FCP then export to Dav. Maybe not real progressive but it looks good.

If my monitor is hardware calibrated REC 709, why should I use a lut in hdlink with the same REC 709? Isnt the HD signal that comes from the decklink already REC 709 compliant?

    Hi Robin
How are the results? What settings are you using in JES?

    Hi Robin
I dont really know if its adaptive, I just like the way it looks after it renders. It doesnt give you a real progressive render, but the two fields are the same.
Tomorrow I will start a project that’s been shot in HDV 25i and edited in Avid. I exported the sequence in quicktime uncompressed 422 10 bit, then went to color and chose deinterlace renders and rendered it to an uncompressed 422 10 bit quicktime.
Again, its the way I do it and I am ok with the results. There may be other ways of doing it that I am not aware of, and its for TV, not for going to film or DCP.

    Hi Robin.
I dont like the way Dav handles interlaced material. I use color to deinterlace and them I go to Dav for grading.
    Hope this helps.

    Thats all very good news!!
I was wondering if the upgrade would work better with interlaced material.
The lite version seems very assistant/trainee intended, good to import edls, organise sequences, its a very good idea.
    I want it now!

    Hi Peter.
I cant seem to make it work.
When I import an AAF the clips are not in sync, the dissolves are not the same size and forget about speed effects.
So I back you up in your search of an AVID workflow that works.

    Hi there Nat.
I work with 3 different setups: 1 is at home(specs in my signature), and 2 almost the same as at home, but with quadros 4000, none with Red debayering or Red Rocket.
Most of the work I do is TV shows, documentaries and concerts, from 45 to 90 minutes, uncompressed HD, avid dnxhd and pro res hq.
Sometimes the system gets sluggish when auto saving, but it never crashes.
Thats what most impressed me since I begin grading with resolve: it’s very stable.
