Try launching the FCP from the icon in the apps folder then going file>open>your project, and see if it open from within FCP.
If that doesn’t work try going to the autosave vault and see if you can open the latest version in there. -
It seems they maybe RF interference which you are pretty much stuck with. Did you have a boom recording as well that you can cut to? If not maybe somewhere else in the recording he says the same word that you could edit in place.

[Javad Ahmadi] “I have FCP 7.0.3 file which got corrupted. Now when I try to open my Final application crushes. Is there any way I can recover.”
You need to be little more specific. Is the file you are talking about a session file or is your application corrupted?
Can you open the FCP application from the FCP icon in your applications folder? -
[john samson] “I’ve not got a lot of funds for a final audio mix and I was just wondering if 5.1 or LtRt is especially necessary. My goal is to enter the film in festivals.”
It is not necessary to have a 5.1 or LtRt for festivals. Quite a few movies are submitted with just a stereo mix. If your doc gets picked up for distribution, then you may want to consider doing a 5.1 mix later. However a lot would depend on what type of documentary it is and whether it would lend itself to having surround sound, as well as the distributors deliverable requirements. -
[Mike Garcia] “If a blu-ray movie, outputted at 1080p, playing on a 1080p tv, look just as good on a regular movie screen? “
No it would not, if it was projected from a blu-ray player. The compression that goes into making a blu-ray DVD would become more obvious if projected on a large movie screen.
However if the movie was projected on a large screen from the original 1080p file it would probably look better than the blu-ray version on the TV. -
[Dave Haynie] “”Track” is just old timey recording engineer speak, dating back from when each channel you could record on was an actual, physical track on a multi-track tape.
“So if this is “just old timey recording engineer speak” what would you call it nowadays? How would you differentiate between a channel and a track?
Your post did more to confuse the issue than to explain it. Eric’s explanation in a couple of sentences did more to explain than your entire 4 or 5 paragraphs.
It does not matter whether you are referring to old tape machines or a new digital device, there is a definite difference between a track and a channel.
A mixer has channels or individual signal paths. You can not record onto a channel. A recording device has tracks, to record individual or mixed signal paths on to.
Some recording devices also have a mixer built in which allows you to plug a mic or other device directly into a channel and send it to an available track for recording or mix it with other inputs and record them onto an available track or tracks. -
[James Whittington] “I should just explain that it is not possible with little to no budget.”
