Chris – Yes! That’s exactly what I’m talking about.

Did you use a mask for that like what I’m trying to do or was it more a
    scale and radial blur?

I thought it was ‘force resample’ for that.

    What’s force resample do then?

I sorry I didn’t explain this one too well.

Yes I want the lights and colours of my background layer to appear to be bouncing and comming off objects and movements in my foreground layer (Both layers same size).

I feel I’m halfway there by using the hard light transfer mode. Do I have to make some sort of mask or bump map or something to get it to appear to be bouncing off stuff in my foreground layer?

August 26, 2005 at 2:26 pm in reply to: Exception Error when nesting veg projects.

Vegas 6.0b and yes, am loading that veg as nested in other tests.

COuld it be possible that I’m simply loading too many veg files for nesting and Vegas can’t handle it and it’s driving everything bonkers? I’m using up to 5 veg files to nest in a project each containing around 100-150 clips and each around 30mins in length. Is that considered a real heavy load?

    Here’s the error I’m getting:

August 21, 2005 at 11:36 pm in reply to: 0% Velocity flickers..

Yeah reduce interlace flicker is on..

Can’t understand this one. I ended up fixing it by using a still (JPG) rather than 0% velocity. Must be something weird going on with this project. I’ve used 0% velocity before with no problems and I’m not doing anything different now.

Oh well.. I’ll see how it goes on the net edit.

Hmm. I did that, ‘entered 0%’ in the ‘set to’ box and the flicker is still there.

It’s like it’s stopped on a frame not a field (That’s the type of flicker).

    What else can cause this?

    -Frankie

  • I tried that –

Also tried rendering in After Effects with the same result. No different…

Wish I knew what is causing that, I’ve had that problem since day one and never really addressed it. Just accepted it except this time I can’t cause the client is super fussy.

  • Thanks everyone!.

The Gamma in secondary colour corrector is giving me the bets results so far. I see light at the end of the tunnel now 🙂

What’s the procedure for adjusting the brightness and contrast on my external PAL monitor? I guess this has to be set properly before I can do anything.

    -Frankie

  • Thanks to you and Gary for the quick response.

Is there a ‘measurable’ method I can use in Vegas to make adjustements? Like a scope or something that will tell me where the gain/brightness etc is suppose to be set to?

I’m doing this by eye but would like a measure to compare my eye to. I set my monitor up to have brightness and contrast properly, a scope would be handy too, is there such a thing?
