Yeah PAL is upper.
But still I’m not sure if I need to create the Mpeg for DVD in Progressive or Upper (interlaced) mode.
Footage is 25p, My editing timeline is also 25p. So now that I need to make am Mpeg for DVD are you saying I should make it Upper field first? (interlaced?) Or leave it progressive?

Sparse Bundles seem to have a slower read/write speed than normal. I don’t use them anymore for that reason..
I’m also worried they can become corrupt. I know this has nothing to do with your post.. Just through I’d mention it 🙂

Hi Brett thanks for the response..
I see what you mean about always having to go back to the project file. Could be a pain highlihgting a bunch of clips, copy / past etc.
Lets say I make all these mini stories compound clips but then once in my main timeline I had to do a lot of ‘intercutting’ between these compound clips and shuffle shots around between them. Would that be easy to do?
If I don’t make compound clips and just copy / past mini stories onto my main final timeline, I could easily intercut between them by just shuffling the clps around from one mini story to another..
How difficult would it be to have a few compound clips on my final timelinee and then swap/ shuffle some shots from one compound clp to another? Is there an easy workflow for this?
I mean it woul dbe easy enough to shuffle clips around within the same compound clip but whan about between multiple compound clips?

March 17, 2013 at 1:50 pm in reply to: Loading Final Cut Events and Final Cut Project FoldersI thought so, thanks..
So I’m guessing that the way final cut works is that once it’s loading it detects all mounted drives to see if there are any event and project folders in the roots and lists them in the event library, right??

I guess you’re right really..
I haven’t edited native 5D Mk II files before and was just guessing that they may be sluggish to work with on my iMac?
I know that 5D Mk 3 files which I have been working with recently are smaller and due to IPB a little easier to work with.
Hence me thinking that I should use proxies for Mk II files.. Just to make my editing navigation a little more fluent.. Or am I wasting my time?

Replacing gap clip without uthe ‘replace’ command[Jeff Kirkland] “Ummmm… I’m going to have to ask, what’s the issue that you can’t use one of the three replace options? Just trying to imagine what you need to accomplish that those commands can’t…”
I want to replace video only to a main storyline clip. When I use any of the replace options, it will include audio as well in the replacement even if I have ‘video only’ selected.
So I’m trying to find the easiest workaround, basically.

John just for educational purposes and not that I need to do this.. What is meant by option 2 below..i.e., What is ‘MPEG-4 Video’ in the below context?
And lets say I wanted to use option 2 below, where in vegas is the option to render for ‘MPEG-4 Video’?

Also, regarding below..
If I was to use the Sony one with the proper parameters for iPod type renders by matching the mainconcept settings for iPod, again it would yield the same result am I right??
[Frank Manno] “They recommend MainConcept AVC for Apple iPod type of renders.”
