There is animation software out there that will do this type of stuff. Bare in mind that Vegas is not an animation software but, in my view, a pretty darn good editing software that can do basic animation.

In my line of work, when the need for more specialized animation arises, I have a go to ”Guy”. Your solution could be that with the more complex part of the animation, the option of farming out those sequences would give you more time to polish your editing…

You rarely see a great cameraman double as a great editor or animator. You can be good but not great.

Very doable.

Just import your graphics and animate them using keyframes. Same with fonts. Just type ”keyframe animation vegas tutorial” in Google.

It won’t take long for a bright lad like you to learn how to animate.

I think you problem lies with your frame rate. Normally, it should be 29.970 (NTSC). Yours is at 29.940. I think you can see where I am going here… You would first have to make your original file play at the 29.970 rate before dropping it in Vegas. Send it thru FFMPEG (or similar software) so you end up with a 29.970 video file. Vegas should not have any problems after that…

Hi Fabio

I was under the assumption that you had 2 distinct video tracks.

Here is what I think is the easiest way out for you short of re-recording.

1- Duplicate your video track, one on top of the other.

2- Split your top track in order to separate the 2 tracks.

See attached pick for what I have used. There are other ways to do this but this should work for you.

I made a mistake, it’s not ”CTL=S” but ”S” only to split the timeline.. 2 pots of coffee and 14 hours of editing will do that to you.

At what frame rate did you record your original footage ?

Run MediaInfo (Google search for download link) on your original un-edited file and post so others or I can get back to you.
