    Hi Amanda !

You may want to take a look at Caption Assistant from Vasst.

    Works beautifully.

I am not sure if they have a ”Try before you buy” option.

  • Hi Rafal

Let’s say that you want to go from colour to B&W.

1- Same event, 2 different tracks.

2- First track with no effect.

    3- Second track with effect.

4- Move the beginning of the second track to where you want the effect to start and apply fade up and fade down as per example.

    5- Voila !

  • Hi George

It all depends. If an employer is looking for in-house staff and the software that they are using is, for example, Premiere, then yes, it would be a problem just as it would be if they were looking for someone with Photoshop skills but you were into Gimp. Same end result but different tool.

If you are taking on a project and editing at your place, on your own, then I don’t see it being a problem. You just have to ask what the final specs and file format should be submitted.

I started editing with non-linear with Avid (and before that with 1”, etc…) and switch to Vegas 5.0
when I started freelancing. (now using Vegas Pro14) I never had to justify my use of a certain type of software, as long as the final product met the expected quality standard.

As I said in my previous post, It’s not the brand of tool but how you use it.

    Cheers !

  • Hi George

You are asking the wrong question.

It’s like asking ”What brand of hammer should I buy so I can build my shed” I doubt Leonardo da Vinci used a 500.00$ brush to paint the Mona Lisa… As in everything, the tool doesn’t always make the product.

Most editing software have a tryout period. Give each one a good run and see if it fits your needs, style and comfort level.

Also take into consideration that some editing software are subscription based (monthly, yearly) others are a sold for a fix amount and you own it for life while some are free.

Just try them out and use the one you feel most comfortable with. You don’t want to end up paying for a software that is either to complex to use or that you need to keep buying add-ons.

    Cheers !

    My bad

I was looking at the check mark just below the title ” Windows 10 64 bit host…”, 2 lines, one that says ”– Compatible with…‘ and the other ”Incompatible with…

    I read it wrong.

    Thx for clearing that out.

    Cheers !

    Hi Graham

    Thank you for your time.

I gave up and bought Neat Video. Easy to install, to understand, to use and it works great.

In this day and age, there are no excuses for making something complicated. Sorry Red Giant.

    Thanks again Mister B. !

    Hi Graham

Downloaded, closed all instances, installed, re-booted, opened Vegas, Checked in Video FX and everywhere else I could think of short of my broom closet…

In Windows Apps list, I do see a Magic Bullet Suite but that’s it, nothing else.

I am just about to give up and go with the competition (NV)

    Cheers !
