footage are P2 .MXF mostly… the error occur both while rendering AND exporting

I’ll turn off Open GL then.

    Thanks

  • sorry, never got that kind of problem, but I would go for flash update.

did it used to work and now it doesn’t? or did you never used that feature before?

  • So i am responding to myself, it could help other people with the same project.

It is not a software problem, it is just that the window opens outside the monitor! That’s why the soft are still running. So, you just have to open media encoder (or format option in AE), then press alt+space bar and choose “move” (or whatever it is in english) and go in the appropriate direction using the keyboard arrows.

Saw the answer on the great forum repaire.net (for those who speak French)

  • well in order to export from AE, you usually do not use the “export” thing.

You use the render queue (I have French soft so I don’t know the exact name) so you select you composition in the timeline, then you can go with the shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+< then in the "module de sortie" (so something like "Output Settings") you click the yellow link saying "non destructive" and it opens a window. There you open the scrolling menu "format" and select Flash Video. Then you go in "format option" and do your thing. Quality has to do with the bit rate settings. I go for 2048 most of the time + OnVP6... the renders are perfect that way...

Then why are you surprised that Flip4Mac doesn’t work in AE?
well maybe because of that kind of info I got:

Re: WMV format missing in AE CS3

You’ll need to invest in some third-party software.

Flip4Mac can give you access to a whole bunch of Windows-oriented stuff. Fork over $150, please.

Flip4mac is offered in 4 different versions based on the users needs.
I think the studio version ($50) will allow WMV output from AE.

+ I did not access the readme file of flip4mac prior to buying it and I assumed it was only codec matters that’d be solved by installing flip4mac on the comp. guess I was wrong.

Now thanks for the response even though you did not help me much in that case (I already did convert my wmv to mov before putting them in AE on the mac, but I thought there might be ways to go around that hassle)…

  • Hello… I get these threads couple years late but it’s still relevant in my case.

I did quicktime seq HDV 1080i50 acquisition with a mac book pro (not uncompressed 10bit) and it used the integer (little indian) codec.

I want to use the footage in Premiere Pro on my PC. Is there a way to find the codec for Premiere Pro.

I do have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card and following your advice I did install the soft on my mac book pro. So next time I’ll do it that way, but as for now, I’d like to find a way out without having to convert the footages.

    Thanx
