    Hi László,

So if I’m understanding correctly ALL SCS products can be activated by MAGIX? I thought I remember reading somewhere that SCS would be activating their software they did not sell to MAGIX?

I guess I will have to try Cinescore and MoviEZ HD to see if they will activate on a different system that never had that software before. MoviEZ HD was a totally different beast as I never could manually activate the software.

I am still dissappointed that MAGIX never sent me an email indicating how to register properly on their website so I could keep my login information. When Sonic Foundry sold to SONY, it was almost a seamless transition for me.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Rob,

Pas de problème! It looks like GenArts is still selling the OFX version for $299.00 still at this link: https://www.genarts.com/shop?product=35&platform=1431&license=All&monsters_pack=All&host-product=All&views_exposed_form_focused_field=

Hopefully you can try it out before buying it. I really hope that GenArts starts to either start updating this great piece of software again or sell it to another person / place that will continue to update / upgrade it.

  • Rob,

Unfortunately you have the “stand-alone” version and there is No plug-in with that one. You would have to purchase the OFX version located here: https://www.genarts.com/support/downloads/particleillusion/ofx

I honestly do not know if GenArts is still actively updating that one, but I think not. You can always contact support at genarts dot com to get more information as well.

  • You are Welcome David!

I am slowly adding more files when I find them.

I’m hoping this will be a useful location for users of particleillusion looking for older files that were posted on this forum.

    John,

No problem. Hopefully GenArts has helped you get back up and running. Hopefully they were able to help you out with your activation issue.

I guess my other question is, do you use any type of Firewall software that might prevent particleillusion from accessing the Internet? Does particleillusion let you check for updates/libraries?

  • Thanks Eric for responding. Good to know that Magix is planning on selling these libraries and hopefully will create new ones in the near future.

    Thanks Steve! 🙂

    John,

Unfortunately I use Windows so I’m not exactly sure what revision the MAC version ended on. Under Windows, we are under 3.0.9. If the MAC is supposed to be at the same version as Windows, I would check to see if you can download the newer version and then see if you can activate it. Otherwise support at genarts dot com should hopefully still provide support for this program. At least THEY indicated they would still support it. (Activation and install questions). OK, looking here: https://www.genarts.com/support/downloads/particleillusion/standalone it appears you are using an older version of ParticleIllusion. I would install this version 3.0.10 first.

I forgot to mention also that GenArts has a FAQ page for particleIllusion users located here: https://www.genarts.com/support/particleillusion/standalone#pI3.0%20-%20Where%20is%20the%20particleIllusion%203.0%20Standalone%20installer%20located?

I should be more clear in my message.

    1. If your current version of your software says Wondertouch instead of GenArts – You WILL need to contact support at GenArts because they have changed the activation process and the old servers have been taken down/de-activated.

    2. Make sure you go to https://www.genarts.com/support/downloads/particleillusion/standalone to get the latest version for MAC.

    3. If you current version of your software says Wondertouch, contact GenArts to get a new serial number for the 3.0.10 branded GenArts particleillusion program.

You may still need to contact support since when GenArts took over Wondertouch, they no longer allow the activation of the older 3.0.4.1 activation for us Windows users. We all have to go to the GenArts v3.0.9 version in order to be able to activate it properly.

Sorry I could not help you out more but my knowledge of MAC’s is limited.

  • Steve & Graham,

Thanks. I’ll email and see what they say. I was hoping for a company response since I’m sure this will affect many users.

By the way, the process to create a ticket under Magix will need to be refined in my opinion. At least for me, it seems kinda backwards how they do it when using Firefox 45 esr edition.
