Are you trying to acquire via FireWire? DVCProHD is not supported via FireWire, only HDV and SD formats.

Sounds like you have a corrupt file somewhere. One thing you could try would be a QuickTime export to a codec of choice, e.g. to DV. If there is something wrong in the source file, but it still can be played back, maybe it also can get exported correctly via QuickTime (as opposed to being exported as the original file).

Did you reinstall V12.1.3, or did you just delete the V13 folders? Since you have replaced your system extensions when installing V13, you of course have to reinstall V12.1.3 to get back to your previous version. There are several components installed e.g. in your System folder, like the FireWire support files, that get updated when installing a newer version. If you want to go back to an older version, you need to reinstall the older one.

Did you do an uninstallof 13.0.1 before installing V12.1.3? It sounds like some files were left somewhere, which did not get replaced properly by the older versions. Probably best approach would be to reinstall V13.0.1, uninstall it with the installer and then reinstall V12.1.3

Yes, it seeme like the QuickTime 7.6 update for 10.4.11 does not include the fix, while the update for 10.5.x does include the MJPEG B codec fix. That´s why Producer does not work on 10.4.11 with QT7.6

That´s the problem. QuickTime 7.5.5 is broken, at least the Motion JPEG B codec of this release. Since Media 100 does rely on this codec for the Media 100 i codec, you cannot use Quicktime 7.5.5 with it. Either upgrade to QuickTime 7.6, or downgrade to QuickTime 7.5. Both should work, but as far as I know there is no reason not to upgrade to QuickTime 7.6.

and then m100 crashes upon opening. OSX 10.5.6 QT 7.6 “Did you use 12.1.3 before with OSX 10.5.6? I am not sure that this combination is working. And did you uninstall the Aja Kona drivers (assuming that you are working on an Aja based system and not on the HDx hardware)?

The problem is that this camera records audio in 24bit, which currently does not work correctly with Media 100 in this file format (as far as I know these are the only cameras that currently record audio this way). I am not sure if it is possible to set the cameras to record 16bit audio, which would import fine. Other options would be to convert the clips e.g. in Quicktime player or via Compressor as a batch into another audio format. Probably not a perfect solution, but unfortunately the direct import is currently not working correctly.

One thing you could try (although I am not sure that this is the reason for what you are seeing) is to assign Bus 1 only to Hardware Channel 1/2 in the audio output preferences. I am not sure which signals are routed to the RCA outputs, since we do not use them, but maybe there is more than one copy of the bus routed to the output channel. I have done a tutorial on the multichannel mixing, posted here in this forum and on the Media 100 website, which explains the multichannel features more in depth.

The format sounds very strange. Is it 16:9? You should convert it in AE into a “proper” 16:9 anamorphic format. Therefore create a 16:9 PAL or NTSC composition (720*576 for PAL or 720*486 for NTSC with the Widescreen pixel aspect ratio), and drop it in there. If the pixel display correction is turned on in AE you will see the footage in the correct dimensions.
In Media 100, make sure to create a 16:9 timeline, and to set your broadcast Monitor to 16:9. Media 100 i does not do aspect ratio correction on the Component/SDI output; it sends out anamorphic 16:9 material, so you need to adjust your monitor correctly.

How do you have to deliver the edit? On DVD? Or on DigiBeta/BetaSP/…? If you are supposed to deliver on tape, most likely you should create an anamorphic version (a fullscreen 720*576 or 720*486 image without black bars), since the broadcasting devices do the correction and the flagging for this. If you need to deliver on DVD, make sure that you interpret your MPEG2 file as widescreen e.g. in DVDStudioPro; the black bars also will be created from the DVD player if the player is set up correctly.[Paul Gordon] “Most importantly, what do I do in AfterEffects concerning moving around on the still photos? If the display aspect correction is turned on in AE, you will see the images correctly. Render into Media 100 codec (720*486), and import into Media 100 as 16:9. You will see the image correctly on your computer monitor in the source/record viewer, and you will see it correctly on your Component/SDI out if your broadcast monitor is set to 16:9
If you need more info let me know more about your workflow. How do you monitor the material; how do you plan to get it to tape/DVD or whatever.
