I guess not, due to the additional layers and possibilities you have in sw that are not backwards compatible. The sw part refers to a bug that prevented Media 100 i to fast-import (without re-encode) media files that were exported from sw in the Media 100 i codec.

Then I would try finding out if it is a system-related problem. First thing I would do is to create a new user account and try if the system works reliable there. If not, do a clean install of the OS and Media 100 to a FireWire drive or an added internal drive and work from this one to see if this is stable. If not, then you most likely have a hardware problem somewhere.

Seems like the new V8.2.3 should fix the AE7 import problem.

I would try removing Media 100s preferences to make sure it is not a Media 100 related problem (I guess it is). After removing the prefs, check all hardware settings, media locations and media settings and try digitizing again.

Probably it is much too late now, but are you running Media 100 HD 10.1.2 or 10.1.3, or are you running an earlier version? I think I can remember that FastImport of FCP DV media was fixed in 10.1.2 and did not work in earlier versions.

Do you have a DV board for Media 100? Do you connect the DV deck to the FireWire port on the P6000 board (not the one on the G3/G4/G5)? What DV deck do you use?

Use BitVice. Neither Compressor nor QT Player MPEG2 export do handle Media 100 RGB values correctly. BitVice can do it.
