What OS and QuickTime version are you using? Why are you using V8.01 and not V8.1.1, which is free for all V8 users? What CPU? What drives? Have you checked your drives (media and startup) with Disk Utility?

It sounds like you may have redigitized the clips in the Bin only?!? The timeline and bin can be redigitized separately, and if you only select the clips in the bin and redigitize then with the “Delete media” setting turned on your timeline will be offline. Media 100 cannot convert NTSC material to PAL, so you cannot drop NTSC clips on a PAL timeline. You could render the NTSC into a PAL version in e.g. AfterEffects or Compressor 2.1 which is said to be very good at this. But most likely still your DVD recorders would not record a PAL stream since they are NTSC devices.
The easiest way for you is to stay NTSC, since 99.5% of all PAL DVD players will play back NTSC DVDs. It is part of the PAL DVD player specification that they can do this. Unfortunately nearly 99.5% of all NTSC players won -
