And what codec do you render to in AE? ProRes, as you said? If you want to have interlaced ProRes in SD, then it is supposed to be Lower field first for NTSC, Upper Field First for PAL…

[Bob Karsner] “When played back through Quicktime on a progressive monitor, I am not seeing this effect… only through the Media100 playback to a TV monitor.”
Which kind of hardware do you use? And is your SD 4:3 timeline interlaced or progressive? Is your master supposed to be interlaced or progressive?
Your source clips are interlaced?

[Jaeson Koszarsky] “Were the Quadcore G5s using PCIe supported by any Media100 hardware?”
They were supported with the Aja line of cards (LHe, LSe, Kona3,…). You should have a look at the Kona drivers to find out which one was the last to support PPC cards.
[Jaeson Koszarsky] “What was the last version of Media100 produced that supported G5s?
“

[Ben Price] “SO… it MUST be an issue with the ‘calibrated{Q} MXF Import’ software.
There’s a point version upgrade of the calibrated software available. I’ll download and install that and see if it solves the problem. Update to follow…
“If not, you should definitely get in touch with Calibrated Support. Probably they will have an idea of what is wrong there. Or at least they should be able to do some tests with your footage.

[Ben Price] “When I load the file in Finder, they also do not play to the end. All of the clips are .MXF format. I’m using ‘calibrated{Q} MXF Import’ v2.0.0 to view and access the footage.”
Did you buy the MXF import, or do you use the trial version? The trial version will only show half of the clip or 30 seconds, as far as I know. This could be the reason for the shortened clips, I guess…

If you acquire from “tape” based HD formats (by “tape” I mean something that you can control via RS422), then yes. If not, it gets much more complicated…
But why do you use ProRes 4444? I would suggest a test using ProRes 422, which is MUCH smaller than 4444, and since you are not coming from a RGB-based source and you don´t need an alpha channel there is not much you gain with 4444. Maybe your system is capable of handling 6 streams of 422, and you would be good to go. -
Yep, introduced in V2.
You could correct it with a RGB Levels ColorFX, I think, by setting the output black to 16 and the output white to 235, though. But of course it would be better to import in the “right” color range… What is your source material?

This looks like a rare problem, where your timeline edits got screwed up. I´ve seen this on some rare occasions. If you select all on the timeline, and move your clips, does the app crash?
Usually this is related to some sort of strange overlapping of some clips. Try moving around some of them, and move them back again.

This is pretty easy to do via AppleScript. In the AppleScript menu there should be a Script named “Export All Clips”, which does exactly that. This will export the selected ranges of the clips by reference in its default mode; but you can modify it easily if you need e.g. a Self Contained export or another codec.
Let me know in case you need assistance for modifying the script to your needs.

I am running Lion with V9.1 of the Kona driver and the latest version of Media 100 Suite on some systems. Working in 25fps and not 29.97, but usually this should make no difference. You are sure that you have not accidentally put your material on a wrong drive or into a wrong codec (like uncompressed)?
