[Jim Wilcox] “I did see that there is an additional control panel that you can use to normally interact with the Aja card. It does not install with Meida100, but seems to be part of the normal card install when you are using it with Final Cut for example. Can you install it along with Media100 and have more control over what the card is doing?
    “

No, definitely not. It won´t give you additional audio levels anyway.

The Aja audio ins and outs should give you the same audio level in E/E as when acquired and played back. Is there a difference, and if yes, how much is the level higher? Do you have a chance to compare it to a digital input and output?

I think you should be able to encode from Media 100 directly, but I never do that (with any format). I always export by-ref files and do the encoding in the background (e.g. from QuickTime player for WMV or with BitVice for MPEG2). On the 8Core systems you can prettily continue editing in the foreground while the encoding happens in the backg.

Get the Flip4Mac encoder. As far as I know this is the only working Mac solution to encode Windows Media 9 files.

[Andrew Mehta] “Although technically…didn’t the codecs come free with the Producer Trial before? I guess now the trial comes free with the codecs, huh? 😉
    “

The Intel codecs were watermarked with the Producer trial version before. A nice big Media 100 logo in files decoded with them…

It definitely is, but seriously, I would not want to change with you 🙂

We use it a little bit differently, and this still seems to work:

Double-click your clip on the timeline, move the CTI to the end.
Expand Edit suite, Click on “freeze” and the field you want to use.
Collapse the Edit suite again, and drag the clip from the Edit suite clip window to your timeline.

Not really sure if there have been changes lately to the freeze frame action, but the way we do it all the time still works.

Btw., I would try to log 3 or 4 clips into a new Bin and batch reacquire them to see if there is something wrong with your setup. If this works there is some other problem with your timeline.

You can acquire DV/FireWire footage into any supported codec if you want. There might be reasons why you want to do that, but usually you would acquire into DV for space reasons. But e.g. if you want the footage to mix with other Media 100 HD-codec based material and you want to do a self-contained or by-ref export at the end (e.g. for DVD encoding) you would want to stay in one codec on your timeline, and therefore you can acquire FireWire input material into other codecs.

Were the clips acquired with TC in the first place? It sounds like maybe the clips were captured without deck control (and therefore without TC), so that each clip starts at 0:00:00:00. Due to the fact that there is no preroll on a clip that starts at 0 it would be difficult to reacquire them (plus, if they have been acquired without TC they would not match anyway).

Did you change the media attributes for the clips in the timeline or for the clips in the bin? If you change the reelnames in the bin this does not automatically mean that they are transferred to the timeline.
